ABOUT
Hakon is an Icelandic singer/songwriter and producer/mixing engineer based in Reykjavik, Iceland and London (UK, not Ontario...). All music and lyrics on this site are written and recorded by Hakon.
Growing up with musical and loving parents, who are still trying to find their way back home from Woodstock, he is hoping, through music, to top his achievement of being his high school's break dancing champion.
After being interrupted in his quest for world fame by grown-up day jobs including being a college deputy headmaster, maths teacher, dating coach and speech writer, he is currently focused on his passion for writing, producing, recording and playing music.
Hakon studied Audio Engineering and Music Production at the SAE in London from 2005-6 and has since then worked in various capacity inside the music industry and on multiple music related projects ranging from teaching, creating sound-alike tracks, writing material being put forward for TV/film projects and promotions, studio planning and set-up - to writing, producing, playing, recording and mixing for up-and-coming artists at an East London studio/label.
He has been fortunate enough to work with, and learn from, some great talent in the music industry including mixing engineer Bill Simpkins (@AEDiaries); multi platinum songwriter and producer Martin Sutton (writing credits include Celine Dion, The Backstreet Boys, LeAnn Rimes, Olivia Newton John, et.al.); songwriter and producer Laurence Hobbs (multiple world-wide #1 hits and writing credits for Sam Smith and Pixie Lott, et. al.); Alex Von Soos (#1 for All Saints, Atomic Kitten); Plutonic Publishing (Lead by Stephen "Beanz" Rudden - best known as the man behind the revolutionary UK Top 5 chart hit “Love City Groove” – the first rap song in the history of the Eurovision song contest to represent the U.K. in 1995 - although he doesn't like to be reminded of that); and many others.
